Cambridge Community Arts Courses.

We are pleased to present to you 2 Cambridge Short Courses & 4 Fenland Short Courses starting in Summer 2020: 

Cambridge Fenland
Charcoal
Be inspired, gain confidence, build basic knowledge and techniques using charcoal and pastel. Tutor, Dani, will guide you through the elements, such as observation and interpretation, to produce a portfolio to be proud of. It will take place from the Wednesday 6 May – 1 July 2020 (no class 27 May) in The Galfrid School on Wednesdays 11.30am – 3pm. Over 19s only.  (See attached flyer for more details).
Drama – “According to the Script”
Play make-believe, develop acting and performance skills and explore scripts in a practical way with tutor, John Shields. A fun and interactive course that will build confidence on and off the stage. Suitable for beginners. It will take place from the 28April – 23 June 2020 in the Queen Mary Centre, Wisbech on Tuesdays 1.30 – 4.30pm. Over 19s only.  (See attached flyer for more details).
Moving for Confidence
An introduction to movement techniques to increase confidence, enhance physical range and enable creativity by tutor, Nicki Soyza.  Suitable for performers wishing to improve their movement practice and for those simply wishing to improve confidence day to day. It will take place from the 11 May – 6 July 2020 (no class 25 May) in the Ross Street Community Centre on Mondays 1.30 – 4.30pm. Over 19s only.  (See attached flyer for more details).
Environmental Art
Take a step into the world of Environmental Art and discover a world of unconventional art materials on your doorstep with Jane Thewlis. Experiment with ways to join these natural materials together to create small-scale sculptures. It will take place from the 6 May – 1 July 2020 in the Oasis Centre, Wisbech on Wednesdays 10am – 1pm. Over 19s only.  (See attached flyer for more details).
Improvers Guitar
In a group, build on and strengthen your basic guitar skills with tutor, Andy Saphir. Learn open chords, chord progressions, fingerpicking and strumming techniques, so that you can play popular songs. Not suitable for complete beginners. Acoustic guitars provided if necessary. It will take place from the 13 May – 8 July 2020 March Community Centre on Wednesdays 1—4pm. Over 19s only.  (See attached flyer for more details).
Selling Your Work
Are you an artist, photographer or crafter?  Have you thought about selling your artwork but not sure where to start? This course could help you work out all the details, whether you just want to sell a few pieces or take the first steps in turning your art into a business. Join tutor, Carole Reich. It will take place from the 15 May – 10 July 2020 in Octavia Hill’s Birthplace House, Wisbech, on Fridays 1—4pm Over 19s only.  (See attached flyer for more details).

Course costs:

We are now open to applications, spaces are limited. We welcome people with experience of mental ill-health, priority is given to those with health conditions. In the event a course is oversubscribed, new learners will be given priority over those who have done or are taking a course with us in this academic year.
