⚠️ Pills linked to deaths in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ⚠️
In Cambridgeshire, green pills (seen in image below) were linked to a death of a young adult in Cambridge in March 2025.
Two people were found dead in Ealing (London) following attendance at a nightclub on Saturday 24th May.
Both sets of deaths were linked to similar green pills with an ’80’ on one face and ‘OP’ on the other face. The pills are believed to be sold in loose or in clear plastic packaging. We don’t know what type of drug people thought they were buying.

The pills have been found to contain a potent synthetic opioid.

Green pills are being sold which may contain a lethal dose of a synthetic opioid.

Other pills with different designs or colours may also contain harmful adulterants.

We encourage people NOT to take these pills even in small amounts, and to consider the potential harm of taking any pills.

If you do use drugs, do not take them when you are alone.

If you, or someone else, feel unwell after consuming drugs, please seek emergency medical attention rather than waiting to see if the effects wear off after sleep and re-hydration.

Have naloxone to hand. This opioid overdose antidote works on synthetic opioids so have it to hand if you’re going to put yourself at risk. You can get a naloxone kit from your nearest drug service.
