Illuminate’s Upcoming Sessions and Courses for October

Illuminate sessions

Here are our free October sessions.

  • Our session on Mon 17th will be in person in central Cambridge for those that prefer to learn face to face. We are keeping the attendee numbers manageable to maintain safety as COVID levels start to rise through the cooler months.
  • The session on Wed 12th is part of a series of Self Care sessions that beneficiaries are welcome to attend on a more regular basis. Fay our trainer has a wealth of experience and covers simple and accessible wellbeing tools like breathing to manage anxiety, self-massage and stretching to relieve stress. Through what will be a tough time for many this winter, we encourage people to join these sessions as either a one off or more regularly to build on their wellbeing and maintain connection in a supportive group. From November, these session will be available every two weeks for added support.

To explain a little more about how we run our sessions, we have a short video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fbrcut9xp_4&t=2s    This can be helpful to pass onto someone you may be supporting, to provide reassurance of how we operate.

Anyone who wishes to register for any of our sessions will need to apply here https://illuminatecharity.org.uk/online_training_sessions.php

There will also be a separate email later this week about a short course we are running by one of our beneficiaries, Leo, who wishes to share her learning with others. As a trained actor and single mother who has recently moved to the UK, she is keen to help others, sharing some of the techniques actors use to keep grounded. Watch this space!

MHFA First Aiders in-person courses

Choosing us for your accredited MHFA training means you are “paying it forward” and helping us to create the capacity to work with the people you refer to us. 😊So thank you!

You also get our very experienced trainer Jeremy, who routinely scores 10 out of 10 on feedback. “ Jeremy was excellent and brought at times a challenging topic to life” – June 2022 participant.

Our next course is on

Alternatively, if you have the numbers (8 to 16 staff) and rather have the training delivered in house for your organisation, do get in touch, as we can offer this to your organisation.

Men’s mental health

Earlier this year Paul attended one of our MHFA training courses and is keen to share his experience with other men particularly. Feel free to share…
